Equipping the Church to Reach Men Who Won't Ask for Help

The Hangar is a men's ministry that helps churches engage men through authentic community so that they can live fully known in community, and grow in maturity as disciples of Jesus. We understand that for this to take place, every man, including pastors, need place where they can be seen and fully known.

The hardest men to reach are often the ones who need it most, but many churches aren’t sure how to close that gap. In our experience, men are lonely and more isolated in their shame than ever, and unfortunately, they often equate the church with those feelings.

The Hangar was built specifically for them, creating space where men can be honest, find community, and commit to becoming more whole husbands, fathers, and members of your churches.

Whats the problem?

Weekly Gatherings. Small groups that meet consistently, giving men a regular rhythm of community and accountability. A place to show up week after week without having to have it all together. We offer half a dozen men’s groups weekly that meet both in person and virtually.

Larger Events. Coaching weekends and adventure trips that create breakthrough moments, the kind that shift how a man sees himself and the people around him. Designed for men who wouldn't walk into a traditional ministry setting, and grounded in a healthy foundation through the presence of both pastoral leadership and licensed therapists. While we are not in the business of providing diagnoses, we do provide confidentiality and a safe place to work out things men typically avoid.

A Network You Can Count On. The Hangar isn't a program with an end date. It's an ongoing community of men committed to each other's growth. For pastors especially, it's a rare space where you're not expected to lead, perform, or have the answers. Just show up as a man.

Support for our Pastors. Ideally, men are invited to our Hangar groups, attend and connect to a group of spiritually mature men, and return encouraged and ready to further engage with their families and your churches. We also understand that pastors need a place to take their own struggles, and the Hangar prides itself on being a space where pastors are able to do so.

What we offer:

  • The Hangar isn't here to replace what you're already building. It's here to reach the men who haven't found their way in yet. We complement your ministry rather than compete with it. Men who engage with The Hangar come back to their local church more present, more open, and more committed.

  • Yes. Every session at our events includes dedicated time connecting the content directly to the gospel. Our director spent 10 years in vocational ministry before joining the team, and that foundation shapes everything we do. We work to align with the local church, not pull men away from it.

With this being said, we believe that you do not have to believe to belong. This allows a safe place for any man’s involvement with the hope that he will find Christ!

  • Our larger events bring men together for intentional weekends built around vulnerability, camaraderie, and exploring our stories in light of the gospel. With both pastoral and licensed clinical support present, men leave with a clearer picture of who they are and what they're carrying.

  • We are a ministry focused on helping men live fully in their faith. That said, we believe in God's ability to work through trained therapists, and we welcome their insight as we help men explore their stories. Faith and clinical wisdom aren't in conflict here; they work together.

We are not tied to any denomination; in fact, we currently have many men belonging to several different denominations attending our weekly gatherings and coaching weekends.

  • Our weekly small groups are completely free. Find a group near you. Coaching weekend pricing varies based on whether you're a first-time attendee or an alumni, and we offer full scholarships to pastors attending for the first time. You give so much of yourself to others. We'd love to give something back.

  • Simply reach out to info@thehangar.men and let us know who you'd like to refer and how we can help. We'll take it from there.
